In Bowling Green nearly 1,000 workers who make Corvettes are idle and pickets are walking four hour shifts, around the clock. The strike is against General Motors because the UAW and GM have yet to work out a contract agreement.
UAW members accuse GM of cutting costs that benefit employees. GM had hoped to settle the disagreement without a public demonstration, but UAW employees argue that they were left without a choice when the strike deadline rolled around with still no resolution.
